The Association for Computing Machinery, the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society, delivers resources that advance computing as a science and a profession. ACM provides the computing field's premier Digital Library and serves its members and the computing profession with leading-edge publications, conferences, and career resources.
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville chapter of the ACM serves EECS students here at UT. We provide social events, speaker series, and company connections to our many members. Like our parent organization, our chapter strives to improve the field of computer science while supporting the scientists, engineers, and mathematicians among us.
You can join our ACM chapter by contacting any of the officers on the officer page. Several events are open to the public, but some are members only and require that you've paid the annual $5 dues. You can join our mailing list or subscribe to our google calendar to keep up with our events.
Students are always encouraged to participate in our events and activities. Every semester typically has a kickoff event, during which new and old members come together to socialize, play games, and eat pizza. We usually bring in several speakers throughout the year, both general technical lectures and company recruiters. In addition, the ACM Programming Team is open to all students.
If you're interested in presenting a technical lecture, please contact one of our officers to set up a time and day.
If you'd like to schedule a time to bring in a speaker to share information about your company, please contact one of our officers. In addition, we maintain resume lists collected from our members interested in sharing them with CS companies.
If you're interested in becoming a sponsor for our chapter, please contact one of our officers.
